vande caitanya-devaḿ taḿ
bhagavantaḿ yad-icchayā
prasabhaḿ nartyate citraḿ
lekha-rańge jaḍo 'py ayam
SYNONYMS
vande — I offer my respectful obeisances; caitanya-devam — unto Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu; tam — Him; bhagavantam — the Personality of Godhead; yat-icchayā — by whose desires; prasabham — all of a sudden; nartyate — dancing; citram — wonderfully; lekha-rańge — in the matter of writing; jaḍaḥ — dull fool; api — although; ayam — this.
TRANSLATION
I offer my respects to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, by whose desire I have become like a dancing dog and suddenly taken to the writing of Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, although I am a fool.
