kāhāń cāńge caḍāñā laya dhana-prāṇa!
kāhāń saba chāḍi' sei rājyādi-pradāna!
SYNONYMS
kāhāń — on one hand; cāńge — on the cāńga; caḍāñā — raising; laya — takes; dhana — wealth; prāṇa — life; kāhāń — on the other hand; saba — all; chāḍi' — excusing; sei — he; rājya-ādi-pradāna — awarding the same government post and so on.
TRANSLATION
Gopīnātha Paṭṭanāyaka was lifted onto the cāńga to be killed, and all his money was taken away, but instead his debts were excused, and he was appointed collector in the same place.
