sańkhyā lāgi' dui-hāte ańgulīte lekhā
sahasrādi pūrṇa haile, ańge kāṭe rekhā"
SYNONYMS
sańkhyā lāgi' — for counting; dui-hāte — in two hands; ańgulīte — on the fingers; lekhā — marking; sahasra-ādi — one thousand times; pūrṇa haile — when finished; ańge — on the body; kāṭe rekhā — makes a mark.
TRANSLATION
"He counted the chants on the fingers of both hands, and after he had finished chanting one thousand times, he would make a mark on his body."
